This Privacy Policy explains how DD Images (the “App”), a Safari extension for macOS, handles information. The App is developed and published by DMIBAR (“we”, “us”), the independent developer shown as the seller on the App’s App Store page.
1. Summary
DD Images does not collect personal data.
- No account or sign-in.
- No analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, advertising or tracking by us.
- No information about you, your device, your files or your use of the App is sent to us. The only network requests the App makes are those needed to download the images you choose, sent directly to the websites that host them (Section 3).
- Everything the App stores stays on your device.
- We do not sell, rent or share personal data.
2. Information Stored on Your Device
The App stores the following on your Mac so that it works as you expect. This information is not transmitted to us or to anyone else:
- Your preferences, such as filters, sort order and download location
To delete this information, delete the App and its folders in ~/Library/Containers and, if present, ~/Library/Group Containers. If you back up your device, for example with iCloud Backup or Time Machine, this information may be included in your backups, which are controlled by you and your backup provider.
3. How the App Works
Finding Images
When you click the DD Images button in Safari, the extension reads the web page open in the current tab to find the images on it. This happens in Safari on your Mac. The list of images is kept only while the extension window is open and is not saved or transmitted.
Downloading Images
When you download an image, the DD Images app on your Mac requests the file directly from the website that hosts it and saves it on your Mac. To show an image’s size and format, it may also request the first bytes of an image file.
What Websites Can See
Like any request made by a web browser, these requests are received by the website that hosts the image. That website can see your IP address, technical details of the request and the address of the page on which the image was found (the “Referer”), and it handles this information under its own privacy policy. We do not receive, store or have access to this information.
4. Permissions
- Active tab — to find images on the page you are viewing when you click the DD Images button. The extension does not access other tabs.
- Native messaging — to pass the images you choose to the DD Images app on your Mac, which saves them.
- Storage — to remember your preferences on your Mac.
- Network access — only to download the images you choose.
- The extension does not request access to your browsing history, bookmarks or passwords.
5. Apple and the App Store
The App is distributed through the App Store, which Apple operates independently of us. Apple processes information such as your Apple Account, downloads, purchases and payments under the Apple Privacy Policy. We do not receive your payment details or your Apple Account information, and we do not control the information Apple processes.
If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may give us crash reports and aggregated statistics about the App, such as the number of installations and sessions. These do not identify you to us. You can change this choice in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
Ratings and reviews you leave on the App Store are published and handled by Apple.
6. When You Contact Us
If you write to us by e-mail — directly or through a “Contact” or “Send Feedback” option in the App, where available, which opens your own e-mail app — we receive your e-mail address, your message and anything you choose to include. A pre-filled message may contain technical details such as the App version, operating system version and device model; you can review, change or remove them before sending. Nothing is sent unless you send the e-mail yourself.
We use this information only to reply to you and to deal with your request, based on our legitimate interest in answering it. We do not use it for marketing and do not add you to any mailing list. We delete correspondence when it is no longer needed for that purpose, unless we must keep it to comply with the law or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Our e-mail service provider processes messages on our behalf.
7. Our Website
Our website, dmibar.com, does not use cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking. It may remember your light or dark theme choice in your browser’s local storage, which stays in your browser. As with any website, our hosting provider processes technical information such as IP addresses in order to deliver pages and protect the website against abuse. We do not use this information to identify visitors.
8. Sharing and Requests for Data
We do not sell, rent or share personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.
Because the App does not send us information about you or your use of it, we hold no such information and cannot disclose it to anyone — including other companies, other users or public authorities. We disclose e-mail correspondence only where we are required to do so by law.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority — for example, under the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation. California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act; we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in that law.
Because the App does not collect personal data, we usually hold no data about you. Information stored by the App is on your device and under your control. If you have written to us, you can ask us to access or delete that correspondence by contacting us at the address in Section 12.
10. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 and does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy, for example when the App changes. The current version is always published at this address with its “Last Updated” date. If a future version of the App handles information differently, we will update this Policy to describe it before that version is released.
12. About This Policy and Contact
This Privacy Policy describes how information is handled. It is provided for information and is not a contract. The terms that apply to your use of the App are set out in the DD Images Terms of Service.
